This year, we decided not to travel on Thanksgiving. Its a great time to travel here since Germans and Europeans in general don't celebrate the holiday. Instead, we thought it was a great time to spend time with friends and have people over to eat, drink, and be giving!
Our friends, the Torres' came to spend the long weekend with us and brought there little love bug with them! Its so nice having a home large enough for 2 families! We really like getting to hang with them, and Ryan gets more excited to see them, than he does about going to all of these exotic places.
We hosted several couples, singles, and even their family members who were here visiting. We all pitched in and brought tons of food. Honestly, even after people had their seconds, it still looked like no one had eaten anything. Everyone made their specialty and we had left overs for over a week! Ryan and I had a heck of a time with our HUGE turkey, but it turned out great. We all went around and said what we were thankful for and just enjoyed the company. We have been so blessed to have amazing friends in Germany, when we are so far away from home. Every assignment we have had we have never spent a holiday alone and always made such amazing friends that become more like family. That is one thing I really love about being an Army wife. I really have learned there is no need to worry about where we go next (but check in with me in 2 years and I am sure I will be in knots waiting to find out the next assignment) because no matter where that is, it will become home. Here are some more pictures from our fun evening!
