Adios Unaccompanied Baggage!

When I went to schedule all of our move one of the important steps was shipping Unaccompanied Baggage.  This shipment is sent a month and a half or so in advance and will be there when you arrive.  It gets there so fast because it usually goes by air and you have a weight limit of no more than 1000 pounds for this shipment.  It is really important to be selective regarding this shipment also because your household goods can take up to 2 months to arrive in country.  That means you want to be sure you have things that will tide you over until everything arrives!

I scheduled this delivery to be picked up May 23rd and hopefully it will be there waiting for us when we arrive July 8th! We had Affiliated Van Lines as our company to move both Household Goods and Unaccompanied Goods.  I really liked them and felt they handled all our things with care.  They were also super sweet and really thankful that we bought them lunch as a "thank you" for all their hard work.

I compiled a list of essential items that we put in our shipment.  Everyone is different in what they want to send, but it's important to send things you think you will want or need when you are there without a house or all of your other household goods. All in all our Unaccompanied shipment totaled 555 pounds! We didn't even hit our 1000 limit!
